Oman American Business Center (OABC) held its fourth speed networking event at the Grand Hyatt Muscat on November 17.
The event was organised in partnership with Startup Oman, the home of entrepreneurship in the Sultanate, and was supported by Grand Hyatt and Qatar Airways. The OABC speed networking event is in partnership with SAS for Entrepreneurship, National Business Center, The Lounge and Inspired Solutions and is being developed as part of the centreís participation in the ninth annual Global Entrepreneurship Week, the worldís largest celebration of start-ups that bring ideas to life, drive economic growth, and positively impact human welfare.
Set to provide attendees with the opportunity to connect with more than 30 business people during the one-hour non-stop networking session, the event participants will be introduced in rotation and given one minute each to brief their counterpart on their company and explore the possibility of collaboration. Khalifa Al Mukheini, MD of SIMPA MR and SME member of OABC, who participated in previous OABC events commented, ìThe Speed Networking initiatives are integral for SMEs to connect with key organisations and individuals. While the one minute pitch may seem daunting at first, it will help SME owners develop the ability to make a 60 second ëelevator pitchí that will concisely and comprehensively showcase their business to strangers.î
